Sunnybrook Recognized by Forbes Magazine as One of Canada’s Best Employers for Diversity 2024
Forbes Magazine released its annual ranking of Canada’s Best Employers for Diversity today and Sunnybrook is proud to be a part of this distinguished group.
The Forbes ranking includes 200 employers across a multitude of industries, ranging from large corporations to community-based financial institutions, post-secondary institutions and government agencies.
“This is an incredible achievement for Sunnybrook and we’re proud to be recognized by Forbes as an employer of choice for diversity,” said Kristen Winter, EVP, Programs, People and Leadership. “It signals that our commitment to fostering a diverse work culture where everyone has the opportunity to professionally grow does not go unnoticed. This honour belongs to our dedicated staff that continue to prioritize employee wellbeing and creating a safe place for people to feel welcomed and supported.”
Canada's Best Employers for Diversity have been identified in an independent survey from a vast sample of approximately 40,000 professionals from all industry sectors employing more than 500 people within Canada.
The survey included direct and indirect recommendations from employees who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Employee evaluations also included recommendations given by friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry. Furthermore, participants were asked to review their employer across various diversity-related topics: general diversity, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age and disability.
The consideration of data from a 3-year period allowed a robust differentiation between organizations that consistently perform well in the field of corporate diversity, from those that may only have had a good year. The final list presents the Top 200. The final list ranks the 200 employers that received the most recommendations.
