Trees to honour veterans planted at Sunnybrook’s Bayview Campus

250 new trees were planted today at the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, in connection with the Highway of Heroes Living Tribute.

Volunteers from Tourism Cares, Aeroplan, and Avis Car Rental rallied together to get the trees planted.

A ceremony was held to thank those in attendance for their contributions and to recognize the time spent in military service by residents of the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre. Representatives from the participating organizations spoke to the volunteers and proceeded with tree planting activities.

The trees contribute to Sunnybrook’s goal of planting 500 trees over five years to enhance our beautiful tree canopy at the Bayview Campus.
