Sunnybrook update on injured from Yonge and Finch

We currently have five patients. One person is in serious condition, two people are in fair condition, and two people are in good condition.

At this time patients and family members have asked that their privacy is respected. They will not be providing interviews to the media.

April 23, 2018 - Second Update » 

Sunnybrook has received a total of 10 victims from the incident today at Yonge and Finch.

Unfortunately, two patients arrived vital signs absent and were pronounced dead upon arrival.

We currently have five people in critical condition, and three in serious condition.

Victims are still being identified. However, anyone missing a friend or family member can call Toronto Police at 416-808-8085.

Sunnybrook would like to thank the first responders, Emergency Medical Service, Police Services, and the many teams in our hospital who have responded to this situation.

April 23, 2018 - First Update » 

Following an incident involving a van striking a number of pedestrians in the Yonge and Finch area, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre has received seven patients from the scene in its Trauma Centre.

Sunnybrook’s Emergency Department has been locked down as an added precaution and access to the Bayview Campus is being controlled.

Sunnybrook has activated its Hospital Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC) and is meeting currently to ensure beds are available for the injured.
