Medal for leadership in ALS
The ALS Society of Canada awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal to Lorne Zinman during its 2012 Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday, April 28, at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Toronto.
Zinman was recognized for his dedication and leadership in establishing the Canadian ALS Research Network (CALS), the first national alliance of ALS clinicians and researchers committed to the expansion of ALS clinical research studies in Canada and beyond, and for his pursuit of effective therapies for patients with ALS.
Dr. Zinman is the chair of CALS, medical director of the ALS/Neuromuscular Clinic and assistant professor of neurology at the University of Toronto.
