Sunnybrook student-run conference highlights research excellence

From avian influenza surveillance, to complementary medicines management in oncology, the research of Sunnybrook graduate and professional stream students covered a wide range of compelling topics at the Sunnybrook Student Research Conference (SSRC) hosted this month.

Presented by the graduate student-led group SRI Student Network (SSN) and sponsored by Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI), the conference featured oral and poster presentations from students in Evaluative Clinical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Practice Based Research and Innovation. The day also included four keynote presentations from Sunnybrook researchers Dr. Elizabeth Azstalos, Dr. Maged Goubran, Leanne Hughes, and Dr. Chao Wang.

The conference provided an opportunity for students to present research, participate in a poster competition, meet fellow researchers and make connections for future collaboration. Four students were awarded prizes. Congratulations to the awardees, participants and organizers of this year’s conference.
