Sunnybrook scientists contributing to new national network researching long COVID
Sunnybrook researchers are part of a new pan-Canadian network of leading scientists, clinicians and patient partners to better understand, diagnose and treat post COVID-19 condition or long COVID. The network, called Long COVID web, is supported by a recent $20 million investment from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
More than 300 researchers are contributing to the network, including Sunnybrook principal investigators Dr. Rob Fowler and Dr. Simon Graham, and co-investigators Dr. Marina Wasilewski, Dr. Candace McNaughton, and Dr. Andrea Gershon.
Together, their contributions will help to produce evidence-based and standardized clinical practices, integrated care models and policies and programs aimed at real and lasting improvements in the lives of the roughly 1.4 million Canadians living with long COVID.
