Aon Empowering Results Day

Each year, Aon Hewitt employees around the world give back to their communities through Aon Empower Results Day. Worldwide, over 12,000 co-workers in over 175 cities mobilize for the benefit of others.

“It is an amazing opportunity for our colleagues to dedicate time to having a hands-on impact in their community and supporting our mission to empower economic and human responsibility,” says Matt Pittman, Central Canada Market Leader at Aon Hewitt.

Since 2015, dozens of Aon Hewitt employees have walked from their offices in North York and downtown Toronto all the way to Sunnybrook’s Bayview campus in support of the Veterans Centre.

The initiative has raised over $8,000 for the Grant A Wish program, which provides comfort and entertainment to residents of the Veterans Centre at Sunnybrook. Wishes are granted to residents every month, and can be as elaborate as a trip to British Columbia or as simple as a request for maple walnut ice cream every day for a month.

“For us, this is a very direct way of giving back to veteran residents at Sunnybrook,” says Matt. “The positive impact on veterans is clear and unequivocal – and after what they’ve done for us, it’s the least we can do for them.”
