How Will The Medication Be Given?
- Misoprostol tablets are inserted into your vagina, either by yourself or your healthcare provider.
- They will be inserted every four hours until you are in active labour (maximum of 6 doses).
- If your doctor has offered the option of inserting the misoprostol tablets yourself, wash and dry your hands thoroughly before and after insertion.
- Next, push the prescribed amount of tablets, one by one, high into your vagina (like inserting an applicator-free tampon).
