Important information for patients with appointments in G-Wing
Recently, Sunnybrook opened the new Garry Hurvitz Brain Sciences Centre on our Bayview Campus. Also known as G-Wing, most clinical care for patients in the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program will take place in the new G-Wing.
Work is underway to update permanent signage across the Bayview Campus to help you find your way to the new G-Wing. In the meantime, temporary signage is in place to help you get where you need to go. You can also use the Sunnybrook MyDirections tool to find your appointment, visit the MySunnybrook Experience Centre, located next to the gift shop on the first floor of M-Wing, or speak to a Sunnybrook volunteer for help.
A PDF version of our Bayview Campus map has been updated to include the new G-Wing, and can be downloaded before your visit.
Note that outdoor signage on the Bayview Campus will be updated in the coming months. The new Hurvitz Centre is located at 106 Lifesaving Drive.
How do I get to my outpatient appointment?
Outpatients can enter G-Wing on the first floor of our Bayview Campus. This will bring you to G-1.
If your appointment is in the Barzakay Clinic, your appointment reminder will direct you to either G1-100 or G2-100 reception to check-in. If your appointment is in the Harquail Centre for Neuromodulation, you will visit G2-201 reception to check-in, unless otherwise noted.
View our campus map to find parking near the new Hurvitz Centre. If entering from other parts of the hospital, proceed to the first floor and you can enter G-Wing from near Harlequin’s cafeteria.
Where do I go to visit an inpatient?
If you are visiting an inpatient in the adult mental health unit on G-Wing, proceed to the ground floor. You will check-in at the security desk and enter G-Wing from there. If you are visiting an inpatient in the adolescent mental health unit on G-wing, proceed to the 1st floor. You will use the intercom to connect with the unit staff. If you are using the Sunnybrook MyDirections tool, it does not give you directions to rooms of the inpatient units on G-Wing, as you must check in with security or use the intercom to access the units.
