New technology aids in teaching and learning

The Holland Centre received a high-tech boost recently with the installation of an Infocus Mondopad.

The interactive unit, housed in the second-floor conference room, is a 55-inch touch screen that lets meeting participants make dynamic presentations, annotate documents right on screen and connect with others via videoconferencing.

The new system will allow Holland Centre experts to connect with other sites, and deliver patient, student and staff education materials in an advanced, interactive way.

"We are so thrilled to have this new technology," said Deborah Kennedy, manager of rehabilitation and program development at the Holland Centre. "We already work closely with experts at other sites, but the Mondopad will allow us to further these connections through remote conferencing and other interactive capabilities."

The Mondopad was purchased through support from the Dr. Charles S. Wright Musculoskeletal Education Fund and the Department of Anaesthesia.
