Announcing our new Executive Director: Walter Leahy

A message from the Board Chair, Dr. Lisa Del Giudice:

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Sunnybrook Academic Family Health Team, I am pleased to announce that Walter Leahy has been appointed Executive Director.

Walter is a Registered Occupational Therapist and is currently a Care Coordinator with the Toronto Central LHIN. He is well known to the team at Sunnybrook Academic Family Health Team as he has worked with our patients and our team for a number of years, ensuring seamless transitions between various sites of care. Walter is a strong proponent for the value of community care and is deeply committed to the importance of Primary Care to best serve patients.

Walter’s leadership experience is vast: spanning acute care, community care, mental health care, and rehabilitation settings. His work has taken him outside Canada, and he has held leadership roles in the United States and Ireland.

Please join me in welcoming Walter. He will assume the role of Executive Director on April 20, 2020.
