Welcoming the first baby of 2014

The baby, a boy named Arsis Zally, was born at 12:00 am on January 1, 2014 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, weighing 8 lbs, 3 ounces. He is one of three babies in the city reported to be born within seconds of the midnight hour.

Both baby and mother Alvira Namivar are doing well.

Sunnybrook provides supportive care for women during their labour and birth, delivering approximately 4,000 babies each year. Sunnybrook is also a high-risk centre with a Level III NICU.
