$1.2 Million for Sunnybrook Veterans Centre

October 24, 2014

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Sunnybrook Health Sciences in Toronto will receive $1.2 million towards McDermott House Canada’s Pledge of $3.6 million to renovate and expand the current palliative care centre at K-wing.

Launched in 2010, McDermott House Canada is committed to supporting Veteran’s and first responders. This first installment payment demonstrates the ongoing commitment to help those who have done so much and yet expect so little in return.

“As Canada’s largest Veterans care facility, Sunnybrook is honoured to partner with John and McDermott House Canada. Together, we will create a premier Palliative Care Unit that will significantly change the end-of-life experience for our patients and their families”

John will be joined by Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair, Toronto Fire Chief Jim Sales, Nada Ristich, Director Corporate Donations, BMO Financial as well as many representatives from the public and private sector that have made this donation to Sunnybrook a reality.
