Sunnybrook and Canadian Cancer Society team up

April 5, 2011

June 17, 2011 will mark an important day in the fight against cancer. On this day, the Relay for Life in Toronto Central event will take place at Sunnybrook Park, consolidating an important partnership between Sunnybrook, Canada's second largest cancer care facility, and the Canadian Cancer Society, the largest national charitable funder of cancer research in the country.

Relay for Life is an overnight non-competitive event that involves teams of families, friends and co-workers raising money and taking turns walking, running or strolling around our track from 7:00 p.m. on June 17 until 7:00 a.m. on June 18.

The goal is to recruit teams and engage survivors through the support of Sunnybrook's hospital staff, patients, family and friends. All proceeds will go towards cancer research and prevention programs at Sunnybrook's Odette Cancer Centre.
