Clinical Profile
Dr. Murnaghan has a subspecialty practice in total joint arthroplasty.
Dr. Murnaghan completed his medical degree and orthopaedic training at the University of Toronto. He went on to complete fellowships in arthroscopic surgery and adult reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee in Canada and Germany. He also completed a master's degree with a focus on priorities in undergraduate orthopaedic education from the University of Illinois.
He is an associate professor at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Murnaghan joined the staff in 1998.

Research Summary:
The focus of Dr. Murnaghan's clinical research is prevention of thromboembolism following total joint arthroplasty. He leads a research team conducting a prospective observational study looking at event rates following hip and knee replacements with the use of an oral Factor Xa inhibitor.
