Dr. Eugenia Piliotis has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from McMaster University and completed her Medical Degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1997. She went on to complete her core training in Internal Medicine at the University of Western Ontario and then moved to Toronto in 2000 to start her haematology specialty training.

Dr. Piliotis completed her fellowship in lymphoma at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre in 2003, and a Masters in Medical Education through OISE at the University of Toronto in 2004. Dr Piliotis joined the oncology staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in January 2004 as part of the Haematology Site Group and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto.

In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Piliotis has held numerous leadership positions. She is currently the Chair of the Royal College Hematology specialty committee and is the coordinator of the University of Toronto Department of Medicine collaboration with Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. Dr Piliotis has also previously held other leadership positions at the University of Toronto Department of Medicine including Residency Program Director for the Adult Hematology training program as well as Medical Advisor for the College of Physicians and surgeons of Ontario.

Dr Piliotis has recently taken on the position of Academy Director for the Peters Boyd Academy for the UofT undergraduate medical education department.
