Spotlight on

Brain sciences research

Researchers in the Brain Sciences Research Program at SRI study disorders and conditions of the brain and central nervous system, with an emphasis on affect, behaviour and cognition. Main foci are stroke, mood disorders, neurodegenerative disorders, brain tumours and neuropsychiatry, including traumatic brain injury. Scientists work to develop strategies to help people recover from these devastating illnesses. Their varied areas of focus result in an integrated approach to neurological disease that ultimately improves clinical care.
