Email-a-patient

We are pleased to provide you with a free email service to send messages to your family, friends and loved ones while they are patients here at Sunnybrook.

To send a message, please complete the form below. Your message will be received by a hospital representative and will be forwarded to the patient in a sealed envelope within 24 hours from the time the message was received. Messages received after hours, on weekends or holidays will be delivered the following business day.

Although we will strive to maintain the confidentiality of your message, all patient emails are reviewed by Communications & Stakeholder Relations before being delivered. Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre reserves the right to refuse delivery of any message deemed inappropriate.

 
 

About Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre's email-a-patient service:

  1. Due to patient confidentiality and/or the patient's medical condition, we cannot confirm to you that a patient has been admitted or that your message has been delivered.
  2. Any type of communication or messages (e.g. emails conducting personal business, containing questionable content or business/vendor solicitations) will not be delivered and will be safely discarded.
  3. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee confidentiality or privacy for these messages. For this reason, this service should not be used for confidential communications, including medical, diagnostic, financial or other personal information.
  4. Messages will only be delivered to patients who are registered in our patient directory. Messages to patients who have been discharged, are registered under a different name or requested to not receive messages, will be safely discarded without notification.  No record is kept of messages, delivered or undelivered.
  5. We cannot deliver messages to patients in our Emergency Department, patients who are receiving outpatient surgery.
  6. Patients are unable to send electronic replies to messages received while in the hospital.
