Education

As part of the department of laboratory medicine and pathobiology (LMP) at the University of Toronto, the anatomic pathology division contributes significantly to teaching of medical students, and training of residents and fellows. Anatomic pathology residents pursue core and elective rotations with us, and we also offer elective rotations to undergraduate medicine students and to residents from other programs and institutions.

We offer residency training for anatomic pathology as well as electives for both residents and undergraduate medical students. On the average, six residents rotate through the department at any given time plus one or two fellows.

We participate and coordinate many teaching events, including the LMP’s annual Pathology Update. Staff consistently receive high teaching effectiveness scores and teaching awards.
