The Division of Neurosurgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre encompasses a wide range of clinical, educational and research expertise.

Clinically, we are leaders in the surgical management of malignant and benign tumors of the central nervous system, particularly involving the lateral skull base. Our division treats the full spectrum of neurovascular conditions including aneurysms, AVMs, dAVFs and acute strokes with a combination of modalities such as surgery, interventional endovascular therapy and stereotactic radiation. As Sunnybrook is the largest trauma hospital in Canada, our division treats some of the most complex traumatic injuries of the brain, spine and spinal cord.

Academically, we are pushing the boundaries forward in such diverse fields as CNS drug delivery, traumatic brain injury, optical coherence tomography for intraoperative neuronavigation, and novel therapeutic options for neuropsychiatric illnesses.

The divisional secretary is Bernadette Lacey 416-480-4739.
