Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre has been awarded Stroke Distinction by Accreditation Canada for its excellence in stroke care and teams at its Bayview and St. John’s Rehab campuses.
On October 30, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre was proud to welcome the Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Command for the presentation of the province’s first poppy. The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the Honorable Edith Dumont, was joined by Veterans and staff from the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, alongside a group of students from the Toronto French School, for the annual ceremony.
On Monday, October 27, 2025, Sunnybrook welcomed its first patients to the Peter Cipriano Centre for Seniors Health.
“Someone who comes into the hospital should see a reflection of themselves – someone who respects them, who will sit with them and walk their journey with them,” he says. “Healthcare hasn’t always been kind to Indigenous people. Part of my role is making sure that changes.”
