Sunnybrook welcomes co-op delegation
Sunnybrook welcomed visitors from the “Global Cities Education Network” this week.
This network consists of educators and policy makers from around the world, and includes the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). They selected Sunnybrook to be one of their site visits during their annual Symposium to learn more about co-operative education and experiential learning opportunities for secondary school students, and to gain an understanding of the unique partnership between Sunnybrook and the TDSB.
Dinah Rosen, Sunnybrook’s onsite Co-op Education Program Leader from the TDSB, provided the delegation with a tour to two locations: Veterans Centre, where a former co-op student shared her experience with them, and Plant Operations, where a staff supervisor and student spoke to them about their experiences with co-op education.
Sunnybrook’s high-school co-op education programs sees about 75 students placed in various departments each year, from plant operations, to patient care units, clinics to security and medical reception.
