Research Computing Supervisor - Research Computing - Regular Full Time (220803)

We currently have a Regular Full-Time opportunity for an Research Computing Supervisor position in Research Computing with Sunnybrook Research Institute.

Purpose of the Role: The Research Computing Supervisor is responsible for managing SRI computing deskside operations and supporting corporate medium to large enterprise wide projects as assigned by the corporate IT group (CS/TS/Infosecurity).

Core Accountabilities: First point of escalation for SRI Computing tickets managed through MSM. Day –to-day supervision of deskside support (3 FTE), working alongside system administrators and senior programmers within SRI.

Project leadership through SRI in conjunction with the Senior manager of operations - manage risks, opportunities, changes and conflict resolution within projects. Ensure sustainability of new product or service implementation, ensure effective project execution, and conduct project post-implementation review with a view to continuous improvement.

Provide regular reports on team effectiveness and project status. Provide subject matter expertise to other team members on corporate and clinical applications supporting Research at SRI.. Provide coaching and mentoring as required. Provide input to performance reviews and report performance related issues.

Minimum Qualification and Skills:

  • 5 years’ technical support experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and change management skills
  • Proven track-record of managing 2-5 projects concurrently with a broad range in scope & duration
  • Ability to manage cross-functional project teams
  • Diploma or degree in IT
  • Experience with Marval Service Management (MSM) is an asset
