Following a traumatic injury, time is of the essence.

That's why Sunnybrook's new rooftop helipad will improve outcomes for trauma patients, saving a precious ten minutes when every second matters.

Sunnybrook is Canada's first and largest trauma centre, and one in 10 of the hospital's trauma patients arrive at the Tory Trauma Program via air ambulance from all across south-central Ontario.

The new helipad will sit on the roof of the main wing of the hospital, leading directly to a pair of dedicated elevators for quick access to trauma services.

The new helipad was made possible thanks to the generosity of donors.
