Luce Initiative
A Guiding Light for Youth Mental Health

The Luce Initiative is making significant strides in enhancing mental health support for youth, young adults, and families facing immediate challenges. Established with a mission to fill critical gaps in the mental health care system, the initiative focuses on funding early-stage programs that can make a meaningful impact.

The heart and soul behind the Luce Initiative is a dedicated network of donors and volunteers who share a common goal: to improve mental health care services in our community. “We are a community of professionals who have the experience and passion to make a difference,” says Lucio Di Clemente, the Luce Initiative’s founder.

With three signature events including a golf tournament - Luce on the Links, a cycling event - Luce Ride, and their annual gala - Luce at Night, this incredible Initiative has raised over $600,000 in support of Sunnybrook’s Family Navigation Project (FNP).

We want to help FNP expand their footprint to help more youth,”

Lucio explains, underscoring the initiative’s commitment to scaling its impact, says Lucio. Funded entirely through donor support, FNP is crucial for assisting youth aged 11 to 29 who are struggling with mental health and addiction issues, along with their families. As the largest navigation program of its kind in Canada, FNP helps families navigate the complex mental health and addictions system, offering a free and essential service.

With a mission centred around focusing efforts on making an immediate impact, the Luce Initiative shows a strong commitment to maximizing donor support. “We came together as the Luce Initiative to do something positive rather than feel sorry for ourselves,” Lucio reflects. This proactive approach is evident in the various fundraising events organized.

Thanks to the outstanding support and commitment from sponsor and donors, the Luce Initiative has no plans to slow down with their next big event, Luce at Night, happening on October 4 where attendees will enjoy a cocktail style event, including entertainment at The Great Hall in Toronto, raising awareness and funds for youth mental health.

The Luce Initiative Fundraising

Looking ahead, Lucio envisions raising over a million dollars annually for youth mental health while fostering community connections through shared experiences. “Those conversations while breaking bread are what build community and show us all that we can do something positive,” Lucio adds.

The Luce Initiative, through its dedicated fundraising and community engagement, is playing a vital role in bridging gaps in mental health care, offering hope and support to those in need.
