Definition

The application of histochemical (a science that combines the techniques of biochemistry and histology in the study of the chemical constitution of cells and tissues) and immunologic (a science that deals with the immune system and the cell-mediated and humoral aspects of immunity and immune responses) methods to chemical analysis of living cells and tissues.
