Metatarsalgia
Treatment
If you suspect that you have metatarsalgia, a diagnosis should be made by a doctor.
There are many options that exist when it comes to treating metatarsalgia, such as:
- Wearing wider, flat or lower heeled shoes (less than 1”).
- Wearing shoes that are wide enough in the forefoot with a toe box shape that matches your foot.
- Custom-made foot orthotics may help reduce the pressure on the forefoot by helping to maintain a normal alignment of the bones and joints in the foot.
