Laparoscopic Tubal Ligation or Coagulation

Introduction

Laparoscopic tubal ligation or coagulation is an operation done for permanent birth control.  Your fallopian tubes will be ligated (cut and tied) or coagulated (sealed shut by burning) in order to prevent pregnancy.  This procedure blocks the pathway sperm takes to fertilize an egg, so you will not need any other form of birth control.
