If you are experiencing any complications, the important message is to never stop taking your medication before checking with your doctor first.

This message is echoed by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada.

"The SOGC advises all women who are currently using oral contraceptives to continue using their oral contraceptives as prescribed, unless they experience complications. If you have specific concerns regarding the oral contraceptive you are using, please speak to your health-care professional."
