Upcoming road work delays and closures along Raab Blvd
Travel along Raab Blvd will be delayed as there will be road work and paving starting Monday, July 10 at 6:00 a.m. until Thursday, July 13 at 6:00 p.m.
Raab Blvd will be closed on Friday, July 14 for the full day, into the evening.
Please expect delays, as well as:
- Bus traffic will be temporarily re-routed: Bus stops in front of M, K and L-wings will be relocated to A-wing and Wellspring.
- Access to Parking Garage 2 will be through the north side entrance/exit (on Armistice Drive) on Friday July 14.
- Entry to Parking Garage 1 will be via one of the ramps by the main hospital entrance. Exits are not affected on Friday July 14.
- Parking lots 18 and 19 will not be accessible on Friday July 14th. Passholders will be able to park their vehicles in Parking Garage One (PG1) or Parking Garage Two (PG2).
- The crosswalk between Parking Garages 1 and 2 will remain open during this time.
- Shuttle services will not be impacted Monday to Thursday, but will be moved to M-wing on Friday.
- Wheel-Trans will continue to drop off/pick up at M, H, and K-wings from Monday to Thursday, and the change is only impacting Friday where it will drop off/pick up on M-wing only.
- H-wing visitor parking lot will not be accessible on Friday
From July 10 to July 13 construction flagmen will be directing traffic on Raab Blvd from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p,.m., using a one lane system.
On July 14 Raab Blvd will be closed for full repaving, we encourage use of Armistice Dr. or Life Saving Dr. to go around using Raab Blvd.
Sidewalks and Door Accesses will not be impacted by this road work.

Access from Monday, July 10 2023 – Thursday, July 13, 2023:
- Raab Boulevard will be partially-closed to traffic between Wellness Way and Veteran Hills Tr., please exercise extra caution and follow traffic signs and flagmen directing traffic.
- Bus traffic will be temporarily re-routed: Bus stops in front of M, K and L-wings will be relocated to A-wing and
- Wheel-Trans will continue to drop off and pick up at M, H, and K-wings from Monday to Thursday, and the change is only impacting Friday where it will drop off and pick up on M wing only.
- Sidewalks and Door accesses will not be impacted by this road work.
- The passenger drop off/pick up zone for the Veterans Centre will be at the main L-wing entrance.
Access from Friday, July 14, 2023:
- Raab Boulevard will be closed to traffic between Wellness Way and Veteran Hills Trail

- The visitors parking lot in front of H-wing will not be available
- Bus traffic will be temporarily re-routed: Bus stops in front of M, K and L-wings will be relocated to A-wing and
- Wheel-Trans will be accessible at M-wing drop off only, as access to services at L-wing, H-wing, and K-wing will be unavailable.
- Shuttle bus pickup and drop off will be impacted, the pick up and drop off area will be moved to M-wing.
- Sidewalks and Door access will not be impacted by this road work.
- The passenger drop off/pick up zone for the Veterans Centre will be at the main L-wing entrance.
Vehicle/bus access and parking:
- Bus stops in front of M, K and L-wings will be relocated to A-wing and Wellspring.
- Wheel-Trans will continue to drop off/pick up at M, H, and K-wings from Monday to Thursday, and the change is only impacting Friday where it will drop off/pick up on M-wing only.
- Shuttle services will not be impacted Monday to Thursday, but will be moved to M-wing on Friday.
Pedestrian access:
- Sidewalks and Door access will not be impacted by this road work.
Noise:
Please be aware there will be some noise in line with typical road construction. Road work will take place between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday, July 10 to Thursday, July 13. On Friday, July 14, the road work will go for a full day and into the evening, to allow for the repainting of the road lines.
