November 10 is Neuroendocrine Tumour Awareness Day

On Nov. 10, the CN Tower lights up black and white — zebra — for Neuroendocrine Tumour (NETs) Awareness Day. NETs are hard-to-detect and difficult to diagnose, often leaving patients without answers and treatment for many years.

Zebra is the symbol for NETs Awareness.

There’s an old saying: “If you hear hoof beats, think horses not zebras”. But when it comes to NETs, you have to think zebras.

NETs can often go undiagnosed for years due to a lack of awareness and because their symptoms are similar to those of many other illnesses.
