Important updates to the temporary road closure on the Bayview campus

November 18, 2022

Updated November 18, 2022

There has been another change in the scheduling around the temporary closure of Raab Boulevard for necessary road and sidewalk construction. Due to weather conditions, construction and road closures will be in place from Monday November 21 to Friday November 25.

Raab Blvd is the road running west – east in between Parking Garages 1 and 2 (PG1 & PG2) along past the Veterans Centre and through to Veterans Hill Trail. During scheduled construction, the road will be shut down to vehicle and bus traffic, and pedestrian traffic will be re-routed.

Access from Monday, November 21 – Friday, November 25:

Vehicle/bus access and parking:

  • Access to Parking Garage 2 will be through the north side entrance/exit (on Armistice Drive).
  • Entry to Parking Garage 1 will be via one of the ramps by the main hospital entrance. Exits are not affected.
  • Bus stops in front of M, K and L wings will be relocated to A wing and Wellspring.
  • Wheel-Trans will continue drop off/pick up at H and K wings.
  • Vehicles will only be able to access the Veterans Centre through Veterans Hill Trail. The passenger drop off/pick up zone will be relocated to outside the sliding glass doors in front of K wing.

Pedestrian access:

Access to Veteran units and screening entrances during the road work will be as follows:

  • The entrance on the west side of L wing near Parking Garage 2
  • The entrance to K wing (the large glass sliding doors) for passenger drop off/pick up from vehicles and buses
  • Please note that the main L wing entrance will be temporarily closed

Noise:

  • There will be some noise in line with typical road construction. In an effort to minimize disruption, work will be limited to the hours between 7 am and 5 pm.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions about the construction work, please contact Saleh Daei at 647-544-8779.

* Please note that the previous road closure of Life Saving Drive was completed and has since re-opened to traffic.
