Sunnybrook recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of Canada’s Best Employers 2025

January 21, 2025

Forbes Magazine released its annual ranking of Canada’s Best Employers today and Sunnybrook is proud to be a part of this distinguished group.

The Forbes ranking includes 300 employers across 25 industries, ranging from large corporations to community-based financial institutions, post-secondary institutions and government agencies.

“This outstanding recognition from Forbes as one of Canada’s Best Employers is a proud moment for Sunnybrook, says Kristen Winter, EVP, Programs, People and Leadership. “It highlights our unwavering commitment to creating a workplace culture defined by innovation, excellence, and collaboration. This honour belongs to our exceptional teams, whose dedication and compassion consistently support patients and families during their toughest moments while solidifying Sunnybrook’s reputation as an employer of choice.”

The ranking was based on an independent, anonymous survey of 40,000 Canadian workers at businesses with more than 500 employees. The research was conducted by Forbes in partnership with market research partner, Statista.

The survey included direct and indirect recommendations from employees who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Employee evaluations also included other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively. Participants were also asked to give their opinion on a series of work-related topics like working conditions, salary potential for development, and company image regarding their current employer.

All together, over 900,000 employer evaluations were considered. The final list ranks the 300 employers that received the most recommendations.
