Mark your calendar: Education Week, Oct. 7 - 10, 2013

Sunnybrook will celebrate teaching and learning at its annual Education Week from Oct. 7 to Oct. 10.

Daily activities will highlight Sunnybrook's commitment to the ongoing education of staff, students, patients and families. Throughout the week, look for education booths around the hospital to find out more about what is happening in Education at Sunnybrook.

Monday, Oct. 7: Patient and Family Education in the Digital Age. 

Join us for keynote speaker Dr. Mike Evans, an expert panel discussing the risks and rewards of online patient engagement, and a tutorial on making the most of MyChart.
Noon - 3 pm, McLaughlin Auditorium. Send an email to patienteducation@sunnybrook.ca to register. (Lunch will be served, first-come, first-served)

Tuesday, Oct. 8: Student, Resident and Fellow Appreciation Day
We'll welcome students, residents and fellows to participate in an interactive session with Holland Centre hospitalist and U of T grad Dr. Vikas Bansal. Lunch will be served. 
Noon - 2 pm, McLaughlin Auditorium

Wednesday, Oct. 9: Teacher Appreciation Day
Do you have a special teacher at Sunnybrook? This can be a colleague, a mentor, anyone who has taught you something either formally or informally. Send an apple to your favourite teacher - through our e-cards - to say thank you!

Thursday, Oct 10: 2nd Annual Sunnybrook Education Conference: Digital Learning
This full-day event will focus on all aspects of digital learning, from privacy issues to gaming in education and the latest in technology. Designed for the GTA health-care community and external partners in education, the day will include a broad range of world-class speakers, presentations, posters and interactive workshops.
