Supporting students’ mental health across the province
Throughout March and April, Dr. Amy Cheung, youth psychiatrist, has been speaking to communities on a provincial tour with the Ontario College of Teachers as part of a campaign to help teachers and schools support students with mental health concerns. It’s estimated one in five students experience a mental health illness or concern in any given year.
Dr. Cheung travelled across Ontario to share her expertise and raise awareness about support services for educators and students within their communities. The campaign stopped in cities such as Toronto, Ottawa, Kingston, Hamilton, Windsor, Sudbury and Thunder Bay.
