Congratulations to Dr. Jenny Rabin

Congratulations to Dr. Jenny Rabin, neuropsychology lead at Sunnybrook’s Harquail Centre for Neuromodulation, on receiving the “Rising Star” award from the Association for Psychological Science (APS), a “leading international organization dedicated to advancing scientific psychology across disciplinary and geographic borders.”

The APS Rising Star awards recognize “outstanding psychological scientists in the earliest stages of their research career post-PhD whose innovative work has already advanced the field and signals great potential for their continued contributions.”

In addition to Dr. Rabin’s role as neuropsychology lead at the Harquail Centre, she is a scientist in the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Research Program at Sunnybrook Research Institute and an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine (Neurology) at the University of Toronto.

Her current research program at Sunnybrook has two primary directions. Her work in the Harquail Centre focuses on developing innovative ways to assess cognitive and psychosocial outcomes in neuromodulation trials for difficult-to-treat brain disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and refractory depression. Another line of her work combines multi-modal neuroimaging with neuropsychological testing to identify modifiable lifestyle factors that can protect against Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

She was also recently named a recipient of the "Donald T. Stuss Young Investigator Research Innovation Award" granted by the Dr. Sandra Black Centre for Brain Resilience & Recovery.
