Dr. Nam is head of the Genitourinary Cancer Site Group, Odette Cancer Centre, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He holds the Ajmera Family Chair in Urologic Oncology. He has expertise in uro-oncology and cancer genetics.
His research interests include the genetic epidemiology of prostate cancer and new biomarker discovery for prostate cancer diagnosis. He holds multiple operating grants in prostate cancer research from the national granting agencies National Cancer Institute of Canada and Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), and has published many papers in the field of prostate cancer genetics and biomarkers. Highlights of his research awards include a CIHR Career Award, a Early Researcher Award from the Ministry of Research and Innovation of Ontario, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Medal Award in Surgery for his work in prostate cancer genetics.
He has given numerous lectures on prostate cancer biomarkers and genetics at national and international meetings and universities. Dr. Nam's clinical practice primarily consists of the surgical treatment of patients with urologic malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancer.

Research Summary:
Dr. Nam conducts studies in the field of prostate cancer genetics evaluating host and tumour factors. He also conducts evaluative studies in prostate cancer screening tools called nomograms and population-based issues related to prostate cancer survivorship.
