Research Foci:
- Impaired fracture healing
- Immune mediation of bone healing
- Bone histomorphometry
- Mouse fracture model
Research Summary:
Dr. Nam studies the molecular and cellular effects of the immune response on fracture repair in a transgenic mouse model to understand the important implications in impaired healing. This research has a significant impact on patients as five to ten percent of fractures fail to heal satisfactorily.
