Research Summary:
Dr. Imrie’s principal research interest in recent years has been focused on educational research and scholarship with an emphasis on competency-based education and fatigue risk management and mitigation.
He has been active in clinical trials in malignant lymphoma. He has served as local or national principal investigator on major clinical trials in malignant lymphoma. He is a member of the National Cancer Institute of Canada hematology site group and was a member of the clinical trials group from 2009 to 2013.
A further area of research activity is practice guideline development and translation into practice. He has served as chair of the hematology disease site group for Cancer Care Ontario's program in evidence-based care. His work in this area resulted in seven published practice guidelines and influenced the funding of new cancer drugs in Ontario.
