Research Summary:
Dr. Weinerman’s research focuses on quality improvement and specifically resource stewardship. Areas of focus are education, implementation and evaluation of the Choosing Wisely Canada® recommendations.
She is the co-chair of the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine Choosing Wisely Committee and the physician lead of the Choosing Wisely at Sunnybrook Project Team. Dr. Weinerman works to implement and evaluate data-based resource stewardship recommendations to improve quality of care. In addition, she is working on educating trainees about resource stewardship, as it relates to communicating with patients and their families who request medically unnecessary tests or treatments.
