Research/Clinical Profile:

Dr. Mitchell’s academic interests are in the advancement of care for patients with neurodegenerative disease. She has a particular interest in frontotemporal dementia, primary progressive aphasia, mild cognitive impairment, alzheimer’s disease, rapidly progressive dementia and early-onset dementia. She is interested in the advancement of biomarkers and disease modifying treatments in neurodegenerative diseases.

Clinically, she has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, she has specific interest in the interface between neurology and psychiatry and has advanced training in the field of neuropsychiatry and cognitive/behavioural neurology. She has a defined interest in quality and innovation in dementia care delivery in both the acute care hospital and outpatient setting.
