Research Summary:

Dr. Silverberg's research interests have included cognitive changes in thyroid disease, as well as clinical studies in diabetes prevention, diabetic nephropathy and the use of inhaled insulin.

His current research centres around studies in diabetes, with a focus on the role of inflammation in the development of vascular disease in patients with diabetes and its prevention with methotrexate. (He is the site principal investigator for the Cardiovascular Inflammation Reduction trial.)
