Dr. Susanna Cheng graduated from Medical school at the University of Western Ontario in 1995. She completed her Internal Medicine at UWO and went on to obtain her Specialty Certification in Hematology/Oncology at Queen's University in 2000 and Speciality Certification in Medical Oncology at the University of Toronto in 2001. She earned her Master Teacher Certification from the University of Toronto in 2005. She earned certification in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement in 2010.
Dr. Cheng is a Clinician Teacher. She is the Undergraduate Medical Oncology Director at Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre. She actively participates in Medical Education at the Undergraduate and Post-Graduate Level at the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians& Surgeons of Canada - Medical Oncology Examination committee.
Her clinical expertise is in thoracic malignancies and gastrointestinal malignancies. She is a member of the Lung Disease Site Group at Cancer Care Ontario. She is the recipient of the Change Foundation Grant in 2006 for her research in Lung Cancer (Improving Diagnostic and Treatment Pathways).
Her research interest is in lung cancer and medical education.
