Breastfeeding Centre of Excellence

Alexandra is a proud mom to a young daughter, born in 2018. During her pregnancy, Alexandra visited Sunnybrook’s Accessible Care Pregnancy Clinic where she saw an interdisciplinary team, including a nurse practitioner, physician, lactation consultant and dietitian. Alexandra has cerebral palsy and used a scooter to assist with mobility during her pregnancy. She is pleased to currently be breastfeeding on demand. Alexandra’s role is to provide a patient and family lens for the work of the Breastfeeding Centre of Excellence. Just weeks before her daughter was born, she successfully defended her PhD thesis in neuropsychology and clinical developmental psychology at York University.
