Get Fit with FHT (Family Health Team) **NEW**
Finding it hard to get motivation to increase your physical activity? Do you feel overwhelmed implementing more movement in your day? Has your doctor advised you to increase your physical activity and exercise but you are unsure how or where to start?
Sunnybrook Academic Family Health Team (SAFHT) is launching a new pilot group workshop aimed to help support patients who have difficulty implementing movement and physical activity in their day. In the workshop, we will focus on broader thinking of what movement is, promote physical literacy, and create a supportive + interactive environment to achieve your own physical activity goals. This group workshop is built upon a survey identifying the needs and barriers of physical movement within our patients at SAFHT. There will be a strong focus on creating a personalized movement plan that is collaborated with other interprofessional health care providers and participants in the group.
Please note: this group is dedicated to those who do not already regularly engage in physical activity or exercise in their day-to-day routine.
This group is based off Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines: Whole Day Matters: https://csepguidelines.ca/guidelines/adults-65/
Dates: Tuesdays October 1 and October 8 and October 15 and October 22 and October 29 and November 5, 2024 (6 week program)
