Coming in for a clinic appointment

We’d first like to welcome you to Sunnybrook and the Schulich Heart Centre! If you are coming to meet our cardiac and vascular surgeons in our Aneurysm and Aortic Clinic, we hope the following information will help ease your visit.

Prior to arrival

Please take your usual medications in the morning.

Please bring either a list of your medication with you, or your medications in their bottles or blister packs.

Please ensure you have your health card with you.

Please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your appointment if you are unable to attend or need to reschedule.

Arriving at the clinic

Please arrive at the clinic on time for your appointment. If you will be late, please let our administrative team know at 416-480-6080.

Our Aneurysm and Aortic Clinic is located on the ground floor of H-wing at the Bayview campus of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center. You can also ask for directions from our volunteers in the main lobby, or at the entrance to H-wing.

Your appointment

At your appointment, you will meet with one of our cardiac or vascular surgeons who have expertise in managing patients with aneurysmal or aortic disease. You may meet with both depending on your referral.

You will be asked questions about your symptoms, your medical and surgical history, your medications, allergies and lifestyle.

You will have a discussion about your diagnosis, and will be provided with next steps, whether it is ongoing surveillance or a requirement for surgery.

Your team will work with you to discuss further imaging studies needed, treatment options (including minimally invasive approaches) and you will work together to develop a unique plan tailored for your condition.

Following your appointment

During your appointment, you will have been provided information about any further imaging studies that may be required, or you may have signed a consent form.

If you were asked to complete testing during your visit, please use the information provided in the following table:

Blood work M-wing, ground floor, room 202
