Lifestyle choices play an important role in coping with depression. Various lifestyle strategies can help complement treatment. Physical activity, healthy eating, good sleeping habits, and positive relationships can all help to minimize the symptoms of depression.

“Health is a state of being, whereas wellness is the state of living a healthy lifestyle. Health refers to physical, mental, and social well-being; wellness aims to enhance well-being” (Stoewen, 2015).
