How is COVID-19 impacting youth mental health? Watch what our experts have to say

September 23, 2020

On September 15, Sunnybrook hosted its first virtual town hall on youth mental health.

Viewers had a chance to submit questions, ranging from how to help children cope with the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic, how to navigate returning to school – whether in-person or virtually – and how to make sure youth aren’t missing out on important aspects of their growing years.

Our experts Dr. Anthony Levitt, medical director of Family Navigation Project and chief of the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program, child and adolescent psychiatrist Dr. Monidipa Ravi and FNP Navigator Melissa Turner fielded these questions and more from panel moderator Anthony Farnell, chief meteorologist at Global News. They provided practical advice to parents and caregivers to help their youth build resilience and make sense of this uncertain moment in time.

You can support youth mental health by registering for this year’s RBC Race for the Kids, which is going virtual this year the weekend of October 17-18.
