Clostridium difficile
Definition
A bacterium that is one of the most common causes of infection of the large bowel (colon). Clostridium difficile (C. difficile) is an obligate anerobic or microerophilic, gram-positive, spore-forming, rod-shaped bacillus.
Also called C. difficile.
