Definition
A sex hormone. Prescribed for treatment of symptoms associated with menopause, such as hot flashes; prevention of bone fractures associated with osteoporosis; reduction of the risk of heart attacks and strokes; symptoms of prostate cancer in men; and excessive and painful uterine bleeding.
